UP Diliman Chancellor Sergio S. Cao approved Sept. 29 changes in the academic calendar as proposed by the Office of the University Registrar.
Among the changes are:
- End of classes: Oct. 13 (from Oct. 8)
- Final examinations for graduating students: Oct. 15-19 (from Oct. 12-14)
- Final examinations for other students: Oct. 15-22 (from Oct. 12-20)
- Deadline for submitting grades for graduating students: Oct. 27 (from Oct. 22)
- Deadline for submitting grades for other students: Oct. 30 (from Oct. 28)
The OUR also provided the following summary of holidays and class suspensions from June to Sept. 2009.
- Start of classes: June 16 (Tue)—moved from June 9 to June 16 because of AH1N1
- Classes suspended due to typhoon Isang: June 17 (Fri)
- SONA (declared as a special non-working holiday by Malacañang): July 27 (Mon)—No effect on classdays
- Burial of Pres. Corazon C. Aquino (declared as a special non-working holiday by Malacanang): Aug. 5 (Wed)
- Quezon City Day: Aug. 19 (Wed.) Plotted as Holiday in Acad. Calendar (from Proc. 1699)
- Ninoy Aquino Day: Aug. 21 (Fri.) Plotted as Holiday in Acad. Calendar (from Proc. 1699)
- National Heroes Day: Aug. 31 (Mon.)—Plotted as Holiday in Acad. Calendar (from Proc. 1699)
- Funeral of Iglesia ni Cristo leader Bro. Eraño Manalo (declared as special non-working holiday by Malacañang): Sept. 7 (Mon.)—No effect on classdays
- Eid ul-Fitr (declared as special non-working holiday by Malacañang): Sept. 21 (Mon.)—No effect on classdays
- Classes suspended due to Typhoon Ondoy: Sept. 28 (Mon.)—No effect on classdays
