“Let us not stop at what we know we can do. The world is changing fast…we must not let the chance to experience and explore knowledge and skills beyond our own worlds pass us by.” This call to breaking out of one’s scholarly confines was at the heart of College of Music achiever Cristina María P. Cayabyab’s (podium) responsorial message during the Parangal sa Mag-aaral, held February 25 at the UP Bahay ng Alumni. The annual ceremony honored UPD’s University Scholars (those who have maintained a general weighted average of not lower than 1.25), its achievers in national and international competitions including sports and national examinations. Also in attendance were UPD’s highest officials; here shown are (from left) Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth L. Enriquez, Chancellor Sergio S. Cao, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs Lorna I. Paredes, Vice-Chancellor for Community Affairs Cynthia Grace C. Gregorio and Vice-Chancellor for Administration Mary Delia G. Tomacruz.
